HOW TO WEAR SNEAKERS WITH A DRESS

Looking to try something new (or get some more use out of that bridesmaid dress)? Time to repurpose your cocktail looks by pairing them with a summer sneaker. The styling trick is a fashion girl favorite and, more importantly, surprisingly easy to pull off. Simply pair a running shoe with a sheath dress or a midi frock with canvas kicks. The result is a devil-may-care approach to summer dressing. Master the casual trend with these suggestions.

Instantly dress down feminine dresses with flat sneakers. Finish with air-dried hair and a lip stain.

3 WAYS TO WEAR BALLET FLATS LIKE A FASHION GIRL

Comfort Never Looked So Cool

You can always count on a great pair of heels to add instant polish to a look. The downside: Sooner or later, they hurt. Bad. Take a break from painful stilettos this week by trading them for classic ballet flats. This trend is officially back—I'm crediting its reemergence to the ever-so-covetable Celine—and the timing couldn’t be better. Not only are they ubercomfortable, but the chic footwear staple just so happens to overhaul an outfit as well as any sky-high pair of pumps ever could. Don’t believe me? Scroll down to get inspired by three spring-friendly ensembles and the ballet slippers that complete them.

Star-Inspired Swimsuits for Every Shape

IF YOU'RE ATHLETIC...
Resist the urge to gravitate toward boxy, sporty cuts. Instead, take a cue from Lupita Nyong'o and add touches of femininity with scalloped edges or ruffles. I like the bold impact of fuchsia, but if the color is a little much, look for less saturated shades.

IF YOU'RE SMALL-BUSTED...
Give your ladies a little boost (without an actual push up) by drawing attention to the area. Copy Kate Hudson and look for a bandeau bikini that boasts prints and strappy cut-out detailing. Cleavage, made.

IF YOU HAVE A LONG TORSO...
The goal is to shorten, so avoid statement-making patterns at all costs, like chunky stripes that run up and down your torso. Take Jaime King's lead and look for a suit similar to her Babajaan one-piece that's speckled in pretty ditsy prints.

IF YOU'RE PREGNANT...
Flaunt your growing baby bump, like Rachel Bilson! Make your shoreside maternity style stand out with a moodier print and a cool accent-a V-plunge, zippers or otherwise.

IF YOU'RE CURVY...
Look to underwire tops and high-waisted bottoms for extra support and ample coverage. I love Beyonce's take on the pairing, but hot pink and red can be a tad tricky to pull off. go with black and white (the directional stripes create a slimming illusion), instead.

IF YOU'RE PETITE...
Offset a short torso by lengthening your legs. Your best bet? A high-cut string bikini bottom, like Bella Thorne's.

IF YOU'RE BIGGER ON BOTTOM...
Look to Kim Kardashian who always knows how to flatter her best assets. She went with high-waisted bottoms that she paired with a triangle halter.

IF YOU'RE BOY-SHAPED...
Find any opportunity to carve out curves. In Naomi Watt's case, she went with a plunging halter one-piece washed in a fierce leopard print.

THE BEST SHOES TO WEAR WITH AWKWARD-LENGTH PANTS

Wear The Pants

This season’s cool-girl pant is, honestly, a pretty awkward length. Both wide and straight with a slight crop, the unique shape is tricky to pull off and even trickier to pair with footwear. I did my research (think: runways and street style) and found the best types of shoes to wear them with. Simply try one of these 4 combos, team it with a black ribbed tank and sunglasses and you’re good to go.

MET GALA 2015: BEST-DRESSED LIST

With some serious hype surrounding this year’s event, the fashion world was fixated—perhaps more than ever—on this evening’s red carpet for the 2015 Met Gala. Per usual, the entrances were grand and the ensembles extravagant—case in point, Sarah Jessica Parker in H&M and Phillip Treacy and Rihanna in Guo Pei, to name just a few. Here, I will share my top picks for this year's best dressed.

Joan Smalls in Roberto Cavalli

From the color to the cutouts, Joan Smalls killed it in this Roberto Cavalli dress from Peter Dundas.

Jessica Hart in Valentino

Of all of the women to do bold red and beautiful beading, Jessica Hart nailed it.

Rihanna in Guo Pei

Rihanna's dramatic look is what the Met Ball is all about—making an entrance.

Kerri Russell in Altuzarra

This feathered Altuzarra confection (complete with a thigh-high slit) is the definition of black-tie elegance.

Cara Delevingne in Stella McCartney

Trust Cara to take an original approach to the next level. Her tattoos by artist Bang Bang are unexpected and cool.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Versace

Is there anyone more gorgeous than Rosie?! Stunning as ever, this is the '70s way to do chinoiserie.

WHAT TO WEAR TO WORK

Do any of the following statements describe you? 1.) You think hitting snooze is a professional sport. 2.) You can apply mascara without a mirror. 3.) Dry shampoo is an integral part of your beauty routine. If two out of the three could have been written with you in mind, chances are you could use a shortcut when it comes to putting together your work outfits each morning. Enter the fail-safe, office-appropriate outfit formula guaranteed to get your mornings running a little smoother. You’re on your own when it comes to rush-hour traffic though. I'm good, but I'm not that good.
A printed, high-neck blouse and an A-line skirt look polished and spring appropriate. Finish with a sleek shoulder bag and ankle-strap pumps.
